Timber...
"This furniture is made from a once living tree.
There may be an occurance of movement or sap run, neither an issue but the tree stamping its mark to the chair."

Radiata pine (Monterey pine)
Botanical name: Pinus radiata
Family: Pinaceae
Origin: North America

A native of California, USA, the trees have adapted well to the soils and climatic conditions of New Zealand (NZ). NZ Pine yields a strong, economical and versatile light-coloured timber. Tall, clear trunks produce timber highly suited for furniture and all forms of show wood applications.

"The availability of New Zealand Pine as a sustainable and renewable resource makes it an attractive and acceptable alternative to timber species from the world's dwindling natural forests."

The timber we use is milled by Eastcoast Lumber, they process timber from planted forests that have reached harvest age of 25 - 28 years in the Wairoa area. Many of these plantations were encouraged to be planted for environmental and conservation reasons, to prevent land errosion and economical diversification.

Timber Treatment...
